This is purely my opinion. I usually see if the dentist is professional or not by his surgical skills. You can tell if you have seen the same dentist once or twice.
If the dentist has high professional skills, there would be less bleeding during teeth scaling, and less painful. If the dentist did a lousy job, it would feel painful and discomfort. As if the dentist is trying to sharpen their tools with your teeth. The degree of pain also varies by the number of calculus you have, it makes you want to leave as soon as possible.
Yet Dr. Cheng did not put me through such pain, and there was zero discomfort during treatments.
8)All my friends seek Dr. Chan for dental services. Although it is a bit on the pricey side, his professionalism helps me maintain my teeth in good conditions, and I eat taste many delicious food, without any worries.
In previous experiences of teeth scaling, dentists would ask if I have removed my wisdom tooth or not. And everytime when I said no, they would ask to do an X-ray for me, and 9 out of 10 would ask me to remove it, claiming that the situation would worsen if I do not do so. The truth is, my wisdom tooth was never crooked, there were no pain. However, some dentists even told me that if I do not remove it,I could only taste half the food I ate in the future! I figure they just wanted to rip me off!
Later I found Dr. Cheng, and I think he has high professional ethics and morals. As far as I remember, he only asked me to scale my teeth once or twice every year, and he told me I do not have to spend such money to remove the wisdom tooth. Now it has been 5-6 years, and I still feel fine, and my wisdom tooth is still well-preserved.
